Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a zoo keeper? Find out this July as part of our premiere Keeper for Day program!
Available this year for ages 8-15. Choose individual sessions for $15 each or $50 for all four sessions! Ages 8-11 will meet on Tuesdays and 12-15 will meet Wednesdays; the program runs from 8:30-12:30 each week.
Each week we’ll feature a different animal theme. Activities include zoo tours, keeper chats, hands-on zoo projects, and snack time. If you want to get messy and see what real zoo life is like, this program is for you! We are also offering an optional session on Friday July 31st from 6-8 PM for an additional $15; this camp after-hours event will have food, fun games, zoo tours, and a chance to hang out with .
Join us online to visit the shoreline as we learn all about wetlands and the animals that call them home!
Each child will receive a packet that includes instructions and all needed supplies for a daily craft and family activity, participate in live (online) keeper chats, and have access to our educator via chat or phone for questions.
Price: $35 per activity kit (additional fee if shipping materials)
Dates: Self-paced camp packets with activity supplies and recorded digital content will be available to purchase until June 28. Once you register, it takes about a week to put the packet together and then you can work through the camp activities at your own pace.
Our Junior Zoo Keeper camp has been cancelled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are offering the Keeper for a Day program as an alternative. We look forward to offering our traditional camp again next summer!
Zoo Teens under 16 are welcome to register for our Keeper for a Day program. Teens 16 and up can email email@example.com for more information about summer volunteering.
