This exhibit features prairie dogs and a sample of the countless creatures that visit their towns. Children can view the prairie dogs through a specially designed tunnel to safely get up close to these timid creatures.
World Biomes Building
This complex of exhibits highlight different habitats around the world. Visitors will learn about how animals are uniquely adapted to survive in a variety of conditions.
Variety is the key to survival. The animals featured in this exhibit are all around us but not often seen.
This building is being converted into a brand new exhibit coming soon!
Watch colorful native waterfowl and wading birds. You can also view our Bison from across the pond through our telescopes!
Meet a few of our domestic species of animals up close. Come say hi to our llamas, pig, donkeys, and goats.
Hutchinson Zoo Gift Shop
A wide variety of gifts, apparel, toys, books, games, snacks and beverages, and zoo memberships. Be sure to stop in during your visit to the zoo.
The Nature Play Expansion and Splash River are gearing up for you! Next summer you can dip your toes in the naturalistic creekbed and see if you can spot all of the animal tracks in the basin. This fully accessible area will be a great place to spend some hot summer days in 2023!
Coming Soon! For the first time in The Hutchinson Zoo’s history, guests will be able to have an up-close interaction with the bison. Bison have been an integral part of the Zoo since its inception. The Bison Experience will further renovate the south end of the Zoo, adjacent to the new Nature Play Expansion and the otter exhibit. This project will allow Zoo guests to see bison up close and provide viewing of the adjacent pronghorn and white-tailed deer.
